Everyday Math Common Core Checklist

Today I'm trying to familiarize myself with our new Everyday Math 2012 series.  I have a created a common core checklist that goes along with our student journals. I'm using the Everyday Math Pacing Guide from their website to guide me.  Here's Unit 1: Numbers and Routines.

School Rules

My kids enjoyed going over the school rules using Angie Neal's free template for David Goes to School by David Shannon.

Classroom Theme

Can I get a HOOT! HOOT! That's right. I am crazy about all the cute owls I see around town.  Here are some pictures of my classroom.

I actually pulled out my Cricut and made some owls this summer.
I still have to add their names to the feet.

I bought these cute whimsical owls from Doodle Bugs Teaching for my word wall.

This cute owl template I found from Lakeshore.  Click here to grab the template.
It was a hit during Back to School Night.
